The Development Support Partnership is one of the UK`s leading primary care consultancy companies specialising in primary care services development and the building of new GP premises.

Alan Gavurin and Stuart Gavurin formed the Development Support Partnership in 1995.

Previously Alan had worked for 13 years as a senior manager in the National Health Service, his last jobs being Director of Marketing for Harrow Healthcare NHS Trust and then Director of Service Development for Enfield and Haringey Family Health Services Authority.

Stuart is a qualified accountant having run his own accountancy practice. In the late 1980s and early 1990s Stuart was the Finance Director of a large Property Development Company and then a consultant specialising in financing property developments for commercial developers. From 1990 onwards Stuart specialised in the development of primary care premises.

In the early 1990s Alan was responsible for developing a series of large primary care centres across Enfield and Haringey and he realised that the NHS needed specialist commercial finance and property skills to develop these new facilities. In particular, it became apparent that many projects, especially in built-up urban areas, needed development partnerships between GPs, Health Authorities, Trusts and other parties such as Housing Associations and commercial residential or retail developers. At the same time, Stuart had begun to work with Health Authorities and GPs to help them develop new GP surgeries when there were no obvious options or difficult legal and financial issues to resolve.

DSP was set up to bring these commercial skills to the NHS so that complex, innovative projects can be developed and financed for NHS primary care services.

Peter Stylianou, one of the leading Primary Care Premises Managers, joined DSP in January 2001. Peter now manages a portfolio of clients and is particularly involved supporting Health Authority and Primary Care Trust premises developments.
